Balboa / Panama

After 17 days at sea back across the Pacific we reached Balboa, the entrance to the Panama Canal. We stayed the day in the port and continued through the canal the next morning. The shots taken in the canal are absolute gold, looking down on the other vessels from the bridge is really cool.

Savannah

Boy, this port was very cold! After a long day on deck I was treated to some interesting ships shortly before we left the port. The evening sunlight was nice and mild and lasted just long enough to catch the last container ship at the berth.

Charleston

Our call at Charleston marked an imprtant event for me as I got my first ever "real" APL ship. The PRESIDENT ADAMS isn't just another chartered vessel but owned by the American President Line and sailing under U.S. flag. We left in the evening and enjoyed a beautiful sunset for the third port in a row.

Newark

Newark might not sound like a famous port but it's actually a suburb of New York City. I bagged my first two ZIM vessels sporting the cool logo here and also enjoyed a very nice departure with many interesting ships passing by. Now back to Europe ...
